Burnley is a borough on the rise and at Burnley Council, we’re proud to play a key role in driving that progress.

We are looking for someone to support the vital administrative backbone to our unit - a role that’s essential to the smooth running and success of our work.

Our Economy and Growth Unit is at the heart of delivering positive change, from major infrastructure projects to business support initiatives and investment promotion. Our work directly contributes to making Burnley a better place to live, work and do business.

This includes projects such as Pioneer Place, Newtown Mill (the University of Central Lancashire’s newest building in Burnley), Town2Turf, and many more. The unit brings in millions of pounds of public and private investment that benefit those who live, work and study in the borough. We work closely with Burnley’s amazing businesses to ensure thousands of incredible jobs remain here.

We are looking for an Administrative Support Officer to join our dynamic team. In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide essential day-to-day administrative support to the department.

You’ll be an important part of a busy, proactive environment, keeping our office running smoothly and ensuring our teams have the support they need to make a difference in the community. What we’re looking for:

* GCSEs at Grade 4–5 / C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

* The ability to prioritise your workload effectively and meet deadlines

* The ability to research, interpret, analyse, reconcile and present data and information

* Effective written and verbal communication skills

* Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

If you meet the essential criteria and will enjoy working as part of a collaborative and ambitious team, we’d love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Salma Hanif on 01282 475948 or Kath Hudson on 01282 477211.
