
Advanced PH Practitioner (Epidemiology)
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the specialist Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team within Derbyshire County Council supporting the improvement of population health and reducing inequalities for our local population.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication skills who can lead on a wide range of public health knowledge and intelligence programmes. The successful candidate will have demonstrable specialist knowledge and substantial experience of working in the field of epidemiology, evaluation and research.
The role will be supporting the Public Health Lead, providing leadership on specific elements of Public Health Practice and working at a senior level to deliver improvements in health and wellbeing outcomes. Work areas for this role will change depending on the focus of the team, but current priorities for the role include:
- Responsibility for designing an evaluation framework. Our commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in evaluation is fundamental to ensuring the credibility, validity, and trustworthiness of our findings.
- As a leader in our public health evaluation efforts, you will advise in the design and delivery of public health evaluations to ensure their effectiveness in achieving their desired population health outcomes.
- Playing a pivotal role in delivering evaluation training, equipping colleagues and stakeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct rigorous evaluations. This will involve designing and facilitating training sessions, providing ongoing support and guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Supporting the delivery of the PH Strategy, including the JSNA transformation programme, by leading on specific key priorities and deep dives as required.

Salary range
