Are you an experienced and ambitious Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Social Worker to join our Exeter team, where you will play a pivotal role in leading practice, supporting colleagues and delivering excellent outcomes for people and families.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will provide professional leadership across the service, supporting the Team Manager with operational oversight, driving best practice and helping to develop the skills and confidence of colleagues. You will be recognised as a practice expert, supporting complex decision-making and championing high-quality, evidence-informed social work.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you'll:

• Deputise for the Team Manager, providing leadership and support on operational and practice matters.
• Chair safeguarding meetings and other practice-based forums, ensuring effective decision-making and positive outcomes.
• Supervise, coach and mentor colleagues, supporting professional development and promoting reflective practice.
• Hold a small but complex caseload, undertaking complex assessments and supporting colleagues with challenging casework.
• Provide advice and guidance to the team, demonstrating strong legal literacy and a thorough understanding of statutory duties, legislation, policy and best practice.
• Lead on quality assurance, audit activity and practice improvement across the service.
• Promote evidence-based practice and support learning and development opportunities throughout the team.

About You

You'll be a registered Social Worker with substantial post-qualifying experience and a proven track record of delivering excellent social work practice within a local authority setting.

You will have:

• A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
• Significant experience managing complex cases and working effectively with multi-agency partners.
• Strong supervision, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Excellent assessment, risk management and decision-making abilities.
• Experience of supporting practice development and raising standards across teams.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and the development of others.
