Job Advert – After School Club Kitchen Assistant

Grade: Grade 2 SCP 2 - £12.65 per hour

Actual Salary: £3,883

Hours per week: 7 hours a week

Attendance Hours: 3.15pm – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday

Hartford Primary School is looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to work in their After School Provision called RRAP Club.

This role will be term-time only on a permanent basis.

Candidates will ideally have previous kitchen experience, with a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, although this is not essential.

We are looking for a General Kitchen Assistant to join our team and support our Playworker Team in the preparation of nutritious lights meals and snacks for our pupils attending our After School Club provision. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can cook and prepare food as directed by the Club Leader in accordance with agreed menus to ensure that meals are prepared at the appropriate times
  • To serve meals at appropriate times and in the appropriate quantities / manner in order to meet children's needs and agreed catering standards
  • To ensure that a high standard of hygiene is maintained in the kitchen
  • Leave the kitchen thoroughly cleaned and hygienic at the end of each shift
  • Is passionate about caring for children
  • Is a team player, eager to contribute ideas and work with others

The school is committed to safeguarding children and the successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. This will include online checks.
