Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us. The Post

This role within the Council’s Healthy Streets and Parking team is an opportunity to lead on air quality related projects.

The post holder will be responsible for taking forward the promotion and actions associated with our updated Air Quality Action Plan. You will be responsible for organising events for our residents to help raise awareness about air quality including pop up stalls in our air quality focus areas and annual events in support of Clean Air Day and Car Free Day.

This role involves working with colleagues across the council particularly in the Climate Emergency, Public Health, Environmental Enforcement and Regulatory Services Teams to lead on air quality related activities and gather data for reports.

    The Person

We are looking for someone with experience delivering projects simultaneously and with some knowledge about air pollution issues and mitigation measures.

The candidate should have good organisational skills who can communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences both written and verbally which includes engaging with residents, internal colleagues and Councillors.

You should have the ability to analyse data, write reports and a willingness to keep up to date with the air quality and climate change agenda.
