Make a Real Difference in Community Safety
Sefton Council is looking for a confident and proactive Alarm response Centre Officer to help lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Alarm Receiving Centre. This is a vital role supporting residents, coordinating patrols, managing CCTV and alarm monitoring, and ensuring a high‑quality, responsive service 24 hours a day.

What You’ll Do
- Manage the smooth running of ARC operations, including CCTV monitoring, alarm receiving, and communication systems.
- Supervise ARC Operators and Patrol staff, ensuring all work meets British Standards, Codes of Practice and Council procedures.
- Deploy and oversee patrol staff, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
- Support staff through effective communication, mentoring and performance management.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with operational procedures, completing documentation and escalating issues where required.
- Ensure vehicles, equipment and resources are maintained, used safely and logged appropriately.
- Communicate professionally with the public, council teams and emergency services.
- Oversee and support the 24/7 Careline monitoring and response service.
- Work flexibly as part of a rotating shift pattern.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a control room, security, community safety or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to stay calm, organised and focused under pressure.
- A clean driving license and compliance with relevant security licensing requirements.
- Commitment to high standards, accuracy and customer care.
- Willingness to wear a Council‑issued uniform.

Salary range
- £28,598 - £32,061 per year
