Job summary

Working in the team with Michael our Lead Business Analyst, Ollie and Carol our Senior Business Analysts and our community of Business Analysts you will play a critical role in Digital Delivery. You will be joining our small but friendly team, which is committed to making positive changes for all our users. We are looking for an experienced business analyst to join our team to help us meet our ambitions of ensuring Homes England has a strong basic infrastructure supported by good governance; and our digital services are genuinely modern, agile and effective drivers in the housing market.

Job description

As an experienced Business Analyst and an IT professional, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way. You will be able to work with senior stakeholders.

We will support you ensuring you will be comfortable supporting a multi-disciplinary team’s complex backlog delivering user-focused products through collaboratively developed user stories. You will be flexible, able to switch between agile and waterfall projects, and self-assured supporting Homes England with procuring and adopting new products and services.

As a Business Analyst, joining us on this you will be expected to demonstrate you meet the skills and expertise required of the Digital Data and Technology frameworks specification for a business analyst as laid out in the attached job description.

Person specification

  • Business analysis qualification, ideally and BCS Diploma.
  • Experienced in business analysis, working both collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary agile team and alone.
  • Experience of working with the user centred design profession and their methods and techniques.
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Experience of working with a backlog of user stories and acceptance criteria using Behaviour Driven Development.
  • Experience of waterfall projects, producing High Level, Functional and Non-Functional requirements.
  • Knowledge of the GDS development approach / digital standards.
  • Awareness of public sector Information Security issues.
  • Awareness of public sector finances e.g. Departmental Expenditure Limit (DEL).
