Based at: Civic Office, Doncaster / Hybrid

Salary details: £8.00 per hour/£15,434.27 per annum from 1st April 2026, for all ages in their first year of the apprenticeship. The National Minimum Wage as appropriate to age is then paid for the remainder of the apprenticeship contract following completion of the first year. Contract Type: Temporary Fixed Term, Full Time. The post will be for 18-21 months from start date, until completion of the qualification.

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Flexible working arrangements: We operate hybrid working, so there will be a mix of home and office working.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our business support team in Safeguarding and Standards, assisting the safeguarding team in providing effective, high quality, comprehensive and confidential dedicated support to the child protection advisors and independent reviewing officers.

Combining work and education, this role allows you to take steps in starting or changing your career. Studying for an L3 qualification in Business administration whilst gaining highly sought after skills in all aspects of business support including; high level organisational skills, email and diary management, distributing minutes, sending invites to meetings, booking meeting rooms and dealing with correspondence in the duty inbox.

About You

No experience is required, just a desire to succeed, enthusiasm and a keen interest in the range of council functions and organisation. Due to the nature of this role you will represent the Council, evidencing the professional and business-like approach we have to customers, potential customers and other partners. You will be expected to work in accordance with service standards, procedures and timescales and take a significant role in ensuring we meet our service priorities, so a flexible approach is required.
