Apprentice Electrician – Learn, Train and Build Your Future in Reactive Repairs
Excited to learn a trade? Want hands‑on experience while gaining a recognised qualification? As an Apprentice Electrician in Peabody’s Reactive Electrical Team, you’ll gain valuable skills, technical knowledge and real onsite experience while working alongside qualified professionals. You’ll be paired with a skilled Multi‑Trader and supported by the Electrical team to help you learn, grow and build a career in social housing repairs.
This is a role where your enthusiasm, willingness to learn and positive attitude will be recognised every day. You’ll take part in practical work, classroom learning, workshops, assessments and hands‑on training, developing a strong foundation in electrical work and wider repairs trades.
What you’ll do
- Prioritise delivering a great experience for residents, ensuring respect and professionalism at all times
- Attend workshops, classes and all required training sessions to support your qualification
- Assist the Electrical and wider repairs teams, learning multiple trades including plumbing, carpentry, plastering and painting
- Observe health and safety procedures to protect yourself, colleagues and residents
- Learn how your role contributes to the wider Peabody Repairs Service
- Be open to feedback and always strive to improve your skills and performance
- Attend meetings and participate in improvement activities
- Build good working relationships with colleagues and understand how different teams support residents
- Complete logs, training records and written reflections as required
- Develop practical trade skills and work to deliver a high standard
- Seek help and guidance from your mentor, manager and course leaders

Are You Eligible? Read This First!

You’ve lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland, or Gibraltar for the last 3 years (you’ll need to show proof).
You don’t already have a qualification at the same level or higher in this subject.
You’ll be 18 or older when the apprenticeship starts.

This apprenticeship requires commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. You’ll take part in onsite work, classroom training, assessments and workshops. You will be supported throughout, but you’ll need to manage your time well, attend all training and be open to continuous improvement.

Salary range
- £25,396 per year
