Temporary 2 year fixed term, Full time, 37 hours per week
Salary: £8.00 per hour/£15,434.27 per annum from 1st April 2026, for all ages in their first year of the apprenticeship. The National Minimum Wage as appropriate to age is then paid for the remainder of the apprenticeship contract following completion of the first year. Following the success of our previous Apprenticeship recruitment, we have a new and exciting two-year Roadworker Apprenticeship opportunity to offer successful applicants.
We are seeking individuals that are highly motivated and can work individually as well as part of a team and have a passion for continued development and doing the best for our communities.
If you are an enthusiastic person and want gain experience and a career with recognised qualifications, then this may be the position for you.
As an apprentice you will work alongside our skilled teams on a range of tasks on highway construction, maintenance, and other civil engineering schemes.
As part of your training and development you will attend courses to achieve nationally recognised qualifications.
Although you will be based at our Hellaby depot you will be required to work at any site or location within the Rotherham Borough.
You are required to have GCSE at Grade E or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English Language, or Level 1 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English Language.
You must have the ability to clearly understand oral and written information. You must also be physically able to carry out heavy manual activity.

As part of the selection process, you will be asked to undertake an assessment which will be manged by our training provider. If you pass the assessment, you will then be invited for an interview.
If you are successful at your interview, we will offer you an apprenticeship subject to satisfactory references and a medical assessment.
