
Arboricultural Asset Officer
Job Description
OverviewThe London Borough of Harrow is seeking a professional Arboriculture Asset Officer to support the delivery of the council’s tree service by providing expert arboricultural advice. The role involves inspecting trees and taking appropriate action to address dangerous or high‑risk situations in accordance with the relevant section of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. The Arboriculture Asset Officer will also work closely with the contracts team to assist in planning and programming both proactive and reactive work schedules, including the creation and issuing of works orders to third‑party contractors to ensure the safe and effective management of the borough’s tree stock.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Be educated to GCSE, or equivalent, or able to demonstrate relevant experience.
- Have a National Diploma in Arboriculture, or equivalent.
- Have working knowledge of the Local Government (Misc Provisions) Act 1976
- Have working knowledge of the Highways Act 1980
- Have experience of working effectively with third party contractors
- Have experience of working in an arboriculture function

Salary range
- £42,414 - £45,357 per year
