Join our Greenspaces team as an Arborist, delivering high‑quality tree management and arboricultural services across Liverpool.
- In the role of Arborist, you’ll carry out a wide range of arboricultural tasks including climbing, aerial tree work, technical dismantling and young tree maintenance. You’ll work across busy highways and green spaces, using your expertise to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality operations to ensure the Council's tree stock is fit for purpose.
- As part of the role of Arborist you will focus on productivity and supporting principal arborists to deliver arboricultural works against agreed performance targets. You will be required to work safely, proactively and with urgency to assist in solving problems on site as they arrise.
- In the role of Arborist you will be required to install traffic management requirements in accordance with the New Roads and Street works act 1991. As part of this role you will be required to follow the Council's working practices, specifications and health and safety requirements paying particular attention to the requirements of LOLER and the Working At Height regulations.
- Previous experience in delivering Arboriculture Operations is essential for this role.
The role of Arborist requires a full UK driving licence (Category B) and advanced technical arboricultural operational certificates (or modern equivalents) - NPTC CS30.1, CS30.2, CS32, CS38 and CS39 with the ability to gain CS40 and CS41.
As part of this role, you will be required to undertake three weekends of contractual overtime per financial year. Each weekend will consist of 7 hours on Saturday and 7 hours on Sunday. You will also be part of the emergency out of hours call out/standby rota, which operates approximately 6–8 weeks per year. Both the contractual overtime and standby duties are paid in addition to the stated salary.
