The role

What you’ll be doing:

  • Visiting and inspecting buildings across the borough to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, and supportive of modern ways of working.
  • Building strong partnerships with contractors, colleagues, and building users to deliver excellent facilities services.
  • Monitoring and managing contractor performance, covering statutory, planned, and reactive maintenance.
  • Overseeing delivery of hard and soft services to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Providing professional advice and reporting to ensure operational programmes are cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant.
  • Committing and authorising expenditure within agreed limits.

How you’ll add impact:

Our team provides first-class Corporate Facilities support across multiple sites and depots. We need a dynamic and experienced Area Facilities Officer who will bring a blend of the following:

  • A confident and articulate professional with strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working in facilities management, with knowledge of both hard and soft services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong customer focus with a passion for creating positive building user experiences.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with an eye for detail and service improvement.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Enjoy a balanced approach with flexible home working.
