Job summary

Working in the Land and Development Accounting Team as an Assistant Accountant, you will play an important role in ensuring that the Agency’s land and development assets are accounted for correctly. This will cover the Agency’s land asset portfolio valued at £1.5bn, land related equity and land related current assets and will include preparation of working papers, data analysis, coding corrections, journals, reconciliations and supporting the team with management information.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the team with accounting and reporting issues and be an important finance contact for relevant queries for colleagues across the Agency.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at various levels and your discussions and work will be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

This role requires the post holder to have a determination to complete their professional accountancy studies. Applicants may have some accountancy qualifications or may just be starting that process but either way, we expect candidates to continue their professional accountancy studies. Applicants should be able to demonstrate they can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
