Assistant Chef at Castle Court School

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Chef to join our friendly kitchen team. Our new team member will work from 8am to 3pm every day during term time, plus 4 staff training days. They will assist the Catering Manager in the preparation of the school's main meals, including desserts and side dishes, as well as helping with the catering for snacks, match teas and special events.

Further Information

Alongside assisting the Catering Manager, our new Assistant Chef will also contribute to menu planning, understanding the need to cater to differing dietary requirements and allergies. They will also assist in recording stock levels, support with front of house and porterage where needed, support our children in making healthy food choices and in general, contribute to a positive, professional and collaborative kitchen environment. Ideally, our new team member will have experience in a similar role, and excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, food hygiene and safety, and be able to work well as part of a busy team.

About Us

Castle Court is a day Prep School located in the heart of Dorset, in Corfe Mullen. We seek to appoint new colleagues who are supportive of our Christian foundation and who are keen to be involved in the full breath of school life. In terms of catering, we have a Catering Manager, two Assistant Chefs and a team of front of house and kitchen support staff who do an amazing job of keeping us well-fed with snacks, lunch and tea every day.
