You will be passionate about technology, transforming the delivery of public services and the driving force of the delivery of our IT Strategy. Leading a talented team, shape and deliver effective solutions that power everything from internal operations to frontline services, within the council and for our partners.

    You will define the future of our IT infrastructure and critical systems, champion data driven decision making, and embed a culture of innovation across the council, helping to design and deliver smarter, faster, more connected services for our communities.

    What will you be doing?

    The successful candidate will provide service leadership, translating strategy into clear goals and objectives delivering service improvements and outcomes at pace. You will work closely and collaboratively with our leadership team, Councillors, colleagues and partners, as part of our Resources Directorate.

    • Modernising the council’s technology landscape, supporting the delivery of high quality, accessible and efficient public services.
    • Leading the Digital, Technology & Innovation (DTI) service, ensuring delivery, governance and execution of a complex and busy programme. Ensure high levels of performance across all teams to make our vision a reality.
    • Advising Executive and Senior Leadership Teams on all technology matters, combining innovative thinking to challenge current service delivery and drive transformation and change through IT, data and digital solutions.
    • Overseeing functions including cyber security, infrastructure, architecture, applications and desktop support. Own the IT and Technology pipeline for WNC and our shared service partnership.
    • Championing innovation, embedding the use of technology across council services, inspiring digital confidence for an efficient and enabled council.
    About you

    What We’re Looking For:

    • A strategic thinker with a passion for public service.
    • Financially astute and experienced in managing large budgets.
    • Proven experience in designing and delivering IT strategies.
    • Experienced in leading large professional and technical teams.
    • Experienced professional with substantial leadership experience in IT and a passion for technology.
    • A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
