We are recruiting an Assistant Green Keeper/Green Keeper to help maintain a parkland golf course in the attractive setting of the Towneley Estate in the rural outskirts of Burnley. The course has an excellent reputation for quality and is managed in partnership with Burnley Leisure Trust.

Your duties will cover all green keeping activities including grass cutting, setting up the course, applying fertilisers, pesticides, topdressing and you will also operate and maintain a range of up-to-date machinery. You will also undertake other gardening and maintenance duties in Towneley Park.

It is essential you have an NVQ level 2 qualification in Green Keeping & Sports Turf Management (or equivalent qualification) for the Assistant Green Keeper level and an NVQ level 3 for the Green Keeper level. Experience of maintaining golf courses is essential for both levels and operating the full range of golf course machinery in essential for the Green Keeper level.

You must be able to deal with the public in a polite and courteous manner, work as part of a team, be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions. You will need to be flexible in your working hours; weekend work will be required for which overtime will be paid.
