Teaching Commitment: Part time class teaching commitment

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team. This exciting role combines strategic leadership of SEND, inclusion and pastoral provision with a teaching commitment part time.

The successful candidate will be the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), leading our inclusive ethos and ensuring that all pupils, particularly those with additional needs and vulnerabilities, receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND, inclusion and pastoral provision across the school.

• Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the SENDCo in line with the SEND Code of Practice.

• Lead and monitor provision for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and vulnerable groups.

• Work collaboratively with staff, families, governors and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for children.

• Contribute to whole-school improvement and school self-evaluation.

• Support safeguarding, attendance and pupil wellbeing initiatives.

• Teach modelling high-quality teaching and learning.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven record of improving outcomes.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination or is willing to achieve this within the required statutory timescale.

• Has experience of leading SEND, inclusion or pastoral provision.

• Demonstrates strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

• Is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity and high aspirations for all pupils.

• Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external professionals.
