Job description

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is responsible for positioning the UK at the forefront of global scientific and technological advancement. The department works across government and with external partners to support innovation, strengthen the UK's digital capabilities and ensure technology delivers benefits for people, businesses and public services.

As digital services become increasingly important to how citizens interact with government, it is essential that these services are secure, accessible and resilient to fraud. Effective digital identity solutions help people access government services more easily while supporting the identification, prevention and investigation of fraudulent activity. The Digital Identity Programme works with departments and partners across government to improve how people access online public services.

Through the development of GOV.UK One Login, the programme aims to provide a simpler, more consistent way for people to prove their identity and access government services. The programme supports a more joined-up approach to digital identity across government, helping improve the citizen experience, reduce duplication and strengthen the protection of public services against fraud. The Threat Intelligence and Counter Fraud Team The Threat Intelligence and Counter Fraud (TICF) team is responsible for helping protect the UK Digital Identity Ecosystem.

As part of the Fraud Operations Team, you will support proactive and reactive counter-fraud analysis, helping identify suspicious activity, emerging threats and potential vulnerabilities affecting digital identity services. You will work alongside experienced fraud analysts, contributing to the day-to-day operation of fraud monitoring and analysis activities. The role provides an opportunity to develop your analytical skills and understanding of counter-fraud within a delivery-focused environment.
