Home Office Digital designs, builds and develops services for the rest of the department and for government. Every year our systems support up to 3 million visa applications, checks on 100 million border crossings, up to 8 million passport applications and deliver 140 million police checks on people, vehicles and property.
As an Associate Technology Delivery Manager, you will support the delivery of technology products and services that enable the Home Office to operate efficiently and securely. Working within the End User Compute team, you’ll help plan and coordinate delivery activity, remove blockers, improve ways of working, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. You’ll contribute to a collaborative delivery environment and support continuous improvement across the organisation.
This role offers the opportunity to develop delivery management skills while contributing to critical Home Office services. You’ll work in a supportive community, learn from experienced colleagues, and help shape products that directly impact staff productivity, security, and the UK’s wider mission.
Job description
The Associate Technology Delivery Manager supports the delivery of technology products and services within the Home Office, ensuring teams are set up for success and able to deliver effectively. Working in the End User Compute area—which provides and supports devices, applications, and business‑critical services—you will help coordinate delivery plans, identify and remove blockers, and support continuous improvement across processes and ways of working.
You will build effective working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to transparent communication and helping track delivery and supplier performance. A key part of the role involves contributing to realistic plans, supporting risk identification and mitigation, and helping the team maintain focus on meeting quality, time, and cost expectations.
As part of the wider Technology Delivery community, you will share learning and good practice with colleagues across the Home Office and government. The products and services you help deliver will directly support the UK’s security, operational capability, and organisational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the use of appropriate delivery methods to understand user needs, solve problems, and deliver technology products and services.
- Assist in creating and maintaining realistic delivery plans, ensuring progress is monitored against time, cost and quality expectations.
- Help identify and remove blockers, enabling the team to work effectively and continuously improve performance.
- Foster strong team collaboration by promoting open communication, raising issues that affect team health, and suggesting improvements.
- Contribute to documenting, investigating and mitigating risks that could influence delivery outcomes.
- Communicate with stakeholders, helping to build and maintain productive relationships across the organisation.
- Work with suppliers by supporting performance monitoring and contributing to effective supplier engagement.
- Participate in the wider Technology Delivery community, sharing learning and supporting the adoption of good practice.
- You may also be required to line manage a team in the future, supporting their development and ensuring high‑quality delivery.
Work Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.

You’ll have a demonstrable passion for delivery with the following skills or some experience in:

2. Sift – week commencing 23rd of March 2026
The sift will be held on the Personal Statement, CV and Behaviour Delivering at Pace as listed in the advert.
Should a high volume of applications be received, an initial sift will be conducted on the Personal Statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift will then be progressed to a full sift that will consist of all the remaining elements submitted (CV / Lead Behaviour). Candidates who fail to meet the minimum pass score for the initial sift will not have their remaining submitted elements scored and will only receive a sift score for that assessed at the initial sift.
3. Interview – week commencing 20th of April 2026
If you are successful at sift stage, you will be invited to an interview that will be Behaviours and Technical Skills based questions (as listed in the job advert). All Behaviours and Technical skills listed in the selection process will be scored at the interview.
