Help identify criminals and bring justice to victims of crime.
Join us as an Authorised Identification Officer and help deliver a high-quality, justice-focused service. You’ll carry out identification procedures from capturing suspect images to conducting witness parades and working closely with operational teams and external agencies. In this dynamic role, you will also support investigations giving evidence in court as required.
There is 1 full time position available. This role is on a shift pattern (12.5% shift allowance rate), working Monday to Friday either 08:00 – 16:00 or 12:00 – 20:00 with one Saturday in four, working 08:00 – 16:00. This role is fixed based. Agile working is not available.

You’ll be
- Completing dynamic risk assessments regarding identification procedures.
- Providing expert advice to aid in investigations.
- Interrogating intelligence on the Facial Recognition database.
You must
- Be skilled identifying inconsistencies and inaccuracies in information.
- Have previously worked in a confidential environment.
- Be proficient using IT systems to record and retrieve data.
