Job description
To provide clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare dental centres, to enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental morbidity on operations.
Assume administration duties if instructed by Line Manager / Practice Manager.
There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Person specification
The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake Continuous Professional Development in the core subject of medical emergencies, infection prevention control, disinfection and decontamination, radiography, and radiation protection; legal and ethical issues and handling complaints, as recommended by the General Dental Council.
- Review the appointment diary at the start of each planned procedure and ensure the appropriate instrument sets are selected.
- Ensure the surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
- Carry out and record daily maintenance, servicing and pre-user check of dental equipment, report defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
- Maintain standards and cleanliness of surgery for which they are responsible for and report any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.
