Job description
The post holder will support the delivery of a peripatetic Occupational Health (OH) service which requires travel between base location and assigned units. The majority of clinical activity is delivered face to face in the service person's (SPs) workplace / military environment or a clinic setting, therefore often requiring travel.
The post holder will work autonomously without direct supervision and be accountable for own professional actions.
The post holder will manage their own clinical caseload and proactively support the service person (SP) through their clinical pathway in accordance to best practice, current legislation and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy.
Person specification
The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide specialist, person-centred care which considers safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with Service Personnel to gain informed consent for treatment and develop an understanding of their specific clinical needs despite
communication barriers such as cognitive and communication impairment or when English is their second language. - Accurately record patient consultation and where required, produce specialist reports in accordance with guidance from registration body and DPHC.
- Maintain high ethical standards both personally and professionally, showing integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness.
- Identify the resources required for effective service delivery. Assist the (NCCPM) in business planning and resourcing of the RNOHS.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols, standards, policies and clinical guidelines through interpreting and synthesising information from a variety of sources and promoting their use in practice.

The interview will include two elements:
1. To review and comment on a case study provided 10 minutes prior to the interview
2. To deliver a short presentation outlining their motivation for applying for the role how their skills and experience will support effective delivery in post.
The interview may consist of a mix of direct questions and clinical situation-based scenarios.

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.
