
Board Manager - Stoke-on-Trent Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to join the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (SSASPB) as Business Manager.
This is a unique role for an ambitious and motivated individual who is passionate about safeguarding adults and improving outcomes for people at risk of abuse and neglect. Working at the heart of a well-established and forward-thinking multi-agency partnership, you will have the opportunity to influence strategic safeguarding priorities, drive continuous improvement, and make a tangible difference to the lives of adults across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
As Business Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in supporting the Board to deliver on its statutory responsibilities, strengthen partnership working, and demonstrate the impact of safeguarding activity across the area. This is a stimulating and varied position that offers both challenge and reward, providing the opportunity to work alongside senior leaders from across health, social care, policing and other partner organisations to shape and develop safeguarding practice.

This role is full time working 37 hours Monday to Friday 9-5pm. We will consider flexible working within this in line with the requirements of the safeguarding board activity. We operate flexible working arrangements between the office and home with some requirement for in person meetings at other venues across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.
Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will:
- work closely with the Independent Chair of the safeguarding board, the key partner strategic safeguarding leads and the chairs of the sub groups.
- be responsible for ensuring that the safeguarding board meets it's statutory duties and will manage the business support officer directing their work to ensure smooth running of all board activities.
- play an active role in the work of the board and attend relevant national and regional groups to promote and develop the work of the SSASPB.
- co-ordinate the boards response to Safeguarding Adult Reviews and play an essential role in monitoring any actions for the board or the partners that are identified following any reviews relevant to the board.
The minimum criteria that will be used to shortlist for this role will be:
- A strong understanding of adult safeguarding, including the legislative and policy framework, and a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing, rights and protection of vulnerable adults.
- Experience of working strategically across organisations, building effective relationships and influencing senior leaders to achieve shared goals.
- Excellent partnership-working skills, with the ability to bring together diverse perspectives and foster collaborative solutions to complex safeguarding challenges.
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities, with experience of interpreting data, identifying trends, and translating learning into meaningful service improvements.
- The confidence to challenge constructively, drive continuous improvement, and support partners in delivering high-quality safeguarding practice.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging a wide range of audiences and presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Salary range
- £55,609 - £60,047 per year
