
Building Services Officer
We’re looking for 2 practical, results-orientated, and safety-conscious Building Services Officer to join our team and help ensure our properties are safe, compliant, and well-maintained. In this role, you’ll support the Building Services Manager and work closely with Housing Management and on-site teams to deliver a proactive maintenance service. You’ll coordinate inspections, manage contractors, and oversee health and safety compliance, while promoting energy efficiency and supporting adaptations for vulnerable residents. This is a hands-on role where your technical knowledge and people skills will help improve building performance and resident satisfaction across our sites.
What you’ll do
As a Building Services Officer, you’ll plan and oversee inspections, log and resolve repair requests, and coordinate contractor activity. You’ll ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, manage cyclical maintenance programmes, and support capital investment planning. You’ll monitor contractor performance, manage budgets, and report on progress. You’ll also respond to resident concerns, collaborate with internal teams, and act as a central liaison for building safety and maintenance issues. Your role will be key in driving continuous improvement and ensuring our buildings meet the highest standards.
You will be required to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
What you’ll need
- A degree, diploma or equivalent in Building Studies, Facilities Management, Surveying, Engineering or a related field.
 - Practical experience in building services, with a strong understanding of building systems and compliance.
 - Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver results.
 - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, colleagues and contractors.
 - Proficiency in office software and maintenance platforms such as P360 and Plentific.
