Business Administration Apprentice – Intermediate Care Centre

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has an exciting new opportunity within the Business Support Team based at The Meadowgate Centre in Eston, which is an Intermediate Care Centre which supports adults to regain their independence through therapy led care.

This is a short-term service up to six weeks.

This apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and abilities and gain a good awareness of the Adult Social Care Systems.
  • As the Business Administration Apprentice, you will support the team administratively with tasks which include:
  • answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries,
  • greeting visitors at the front of house reception,
  • producing accurate records and documents, including emails, letters and files,
  • demonstrating good communication skills, whether it be face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms through a variety of ways including the use of our case management system (full training will be given).
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a public sector environment while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification.

Business Administration Level 3 Qualification:

The qualification is delivered at Redcar and Cleveland College on a day release basis, once a fortnight, throughout the whole year. If you need to undertake your English or Maths qualifications alongside (please see job description and person specification criteria), this will be an additional day at college. The remainder of your training and work will be on the job at the Meadowgate Centre for 4 days per week. You will need to be self-motivated to complete your college work alongside your day-to-day office work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work using their own initiative as well as being a team player. The successful candidate will be committed to providing an excellent service and be willing to learn and develop their knowledge and skills.

Please note, this role does include an element of weekend working, based on a rota system.
