
Business Administrator Apprentice-Corporate Assets

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Council’s Property Officer in our Corporate Assets Department. You’ll gain knowledge and understanding of legislation in the property sector, along with all-round administrative skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to work in other areas of the Council, learning about their processes.
Start date: Monday 29 September 2025
Duration: 1 year 6 monthsMost of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
The tasks that the apprentice will be dealing with include, but won’t be limited to:
- Maintain accurate property records and contribute to asset management
- Handle enquiries from tenants and other officers by telephone or email regarding boundary disputes, invoices, land ownership, licence renewals, drainage etc.
- Type up instructions to Legal Services for general enquiries including lease matters, licence renewals, licence to alter etc.
- Review licences and leases to answer simple queries regarding responsibility and consent to works
- Raise requisitions instructing Financial Services to create invoices for rent, service charges, building insurance etc.
- Collate data from the Asset Register to assist with responding to FOI requests
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
English and Maths (grade 4/C or above)Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Essential to have a full driving license and access to own transport to be able to get to various sites around Harborough District to complete site inspections. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 17th September; please ensure you are able to attend on this date before applying.
Salary range
- £24,224 per year
