    We’re looking for a dynamic and data-savvy Business Analyst to join our Transformation Team within the Communities and Opportunities Directorate. This is a pivotal role, supporting service redesign, digital innovation and improved outcomes for residents. You’ll have a hands-on approach and work across Housing, Community Safety & Engagement and Libraries & Community Hubs to drive meaningful change through insight and collaboration.

    This is a 12 months fixed term role.

    What will you be doing?

    This is a varied role with key responsibilities including:

    • Lead business analysis for transformation projects from discovery to delivery
    • Facilitate productive workshops with stakeholders to understand needs, refine requirements and identify opportunities
    • Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards to inform decision making
    • Develop and support Power Apps solutions to streamline workflows and improve service delivery
    • Translate complex data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation
    • Create documentation necessary and requested by project managers including options papers, feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making
    • Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to identify and shape the best solutions
    • Prepare and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders
    • Support benefits tracking, risk identification and delivery planning
    • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
    About you

    You are a confident and collaborative professional with the following skills and experience:

    • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in public sector or transformation settings
    • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling and dashboard design
    • Experience of using Power Apps to create user-friendly, low code solutions
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high pressured environment, managing conflicting priorities
    • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies
    • A proactive, self-starting approach with a commitment to continuously improve the services to residents

    Desirable skills and experience:

    • Knowledge of Housing, Community Safety & Engagement, Library & Community services or local authority operations
    • Formal qualifications in project management or business analysis
