Business Continuity and Resilience Officer – Strengthen Peabody’s Preparedness and Response

Are you organised, analytical and passionate about protecting essential services? As a Business Continuity and Resilience Officer at Peabody, you’ll support the development and delivery of a group‑wide approach to identifying, managing and responding to disruption. Working closely with the Business Continuity and Resilience Lead, you’ll help ensure Peabody and its subsidiaries can prepare for, respond to and recover from incidents in a controlled and effective way.

This is a visible, enterprise‑wide role where your judgement, communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders will help embed resilience and continuity as core organisational strengths.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Business Continuity and Resilience Lead with day‑to‑day delivery, documentation, reporting and tracking of agreed actions
  • Help maintain and improve governance and operating frameworks, including KPIs and resilience metrics
  • Review, enhance and assure incident response and emergency planning arrangements across the Group
  • Support and deliver Business Impact Analyses, risk assessments and Business Continuity Plans for critical services
  • Work with stakeholders to identify critical processes and confirm minimum viable service levels
  • Plan, facilitate and review Business Continuity and Emergency Planning exercises and testing programmes
  • Provide clear, evidence‑based risk insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Support incident response, recovery and restoration activities during live incidents
  • Represent Peabody in external forums and support multi‑agency engagement and exercises
  • Produce high‑quality reports and updates for governance groups, audit and risk committees

What you’ll need

  • A degree or recognised professional qualification in Business Continuity and/or Emergency Planning
  • Experience supporting Business Continuity, Emergency Planning or Operational Resilience programmes
  • Working knowledge of incident management, response, recovery and assurance processes
  • Experience applying risk‑based frameworks, standards or procedures
  • Understanding of organisational dependencies including IT, suppliers and third‑party services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners
  • Strong documentation, reporting and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 22301 and/or the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (desirable)
  • Experience with continuity tools or systems such as Meridian Continuity2 (desirable)
