The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Croydon Council's Performance, Programmes and Risk Service as two fixed-term Business Intelligence Developers supporting Children's Social Care.

These roles are central to the council's ambition to become a more data-driven organisation, delivering high-quality business intelligence, analytics and reporting that support better decision-making and improved outcomes for children and families. Working closely with Children's Social Care, you will design and develop innovative BI solutions that transform complex data into meaningful insight, helping services understand demand, performance, outcomes and risk.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern Microsoft technologies, including Power BI, Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory, while making a tangible contribution to service improvement and the effectiveness of Children's Social Care.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience delivering BI and data solutions using Microsoft technologies.
  • Has strong Power BI skills, including dashboards, visualisation and self-service reporting.
  • Has experience of SQL, data modelling and relational databases.
  • Can work with complex datasets from multiple systems and sources.
  • Can translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Has experience of data warehousing and Azure BI technologies.
  • Can develop impactful reports and dashboards that support decision-making.
  • Has strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in local government or Children's Social Care is desirable but not essential.

Why Join Us?

  • A pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 20%.
  • 32 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Investment in your wellbeing and professional development.
  • Opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • The opportunity to work with modern Microsoft data and analytics technologies at scale.
  • A role that directly contributes to improving outcomes for children, young people and families across Croydon.
  • Hybrid working arrangements, with a minimum of two days per week working from the office or within the Croydon community.

Regretfully we do not anticipate being able to support applicants requiring visa sponsorship.
