Working at the heart of a high-profile Capital Infrastructure delivery team, this post sits within the MPP USVF Programme Management Office (PMO). The Business Support Manager is critical to the support of overall programme efficiency and will be responsible for delivering a range of critical administrative support services with additional roles such as Information Management, and Contracting, Purchasing &Finance (CP&F) and PA duties to the Programme Director.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing
MPP USVF Training Plan
- Maintain and track all MPP USVF training and subscriptions requests.
- Manage the MPP USVF training budget, seeking approval from the Budget Holder.
- Maintain good record keeping for transactions.
- Admin for Government Online Skills Tool and team Accreditation.
1* PA Duties
- Provide secretariat duties for high level meetings as requested by Senior Management.
- Ensure 1* diary is maintained and updated as required, including a weekly itinerary.
- Assurance point of contact (2LOD) for Programme Director, ensuring compliance audits are undertaken and trends reported.
- Arrange travel and accommodation for Senior Management as requested, ensuring VFM and MOD policy is followed.
Assistance/Administration
Supportive/Secondary role for the following responsibilities
- Assisting with co-ordinating access for our contractors and DIO staff and contractors for access to our USVF bases.
- Support as Point of Contact for pass delivery, collection and distribution throughthe Host Agency Offices.
- Assist line managers in delivering departmental goals and in developing teamwork.
- Ensure local compliance with mandatory requirements.
- Monitor Business Support group mailbox.
- Maintain the MPP USVF Business Continuity Plan.
- Update and maintain MPP USVF New Starter Induction pack.
Knowledge and Information Support
- Point of contact for Knowledge and Information Management.
- Record all received Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA’s).
- Maintaining the Information Asset Management Register.
Act as support to the MPP UVSF Team Site Administrator (TSA),managing/maintaining the MPP USVF digital platforms including but limited to SharePoint, Common Data Environment and Defence Share Environment and Access system.
Maintain the Information Asset Owner (IAO) programme.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience - Use of IT systems. Capable and proficient use of MS Office Applications, in particular Excel. Willing to learn new systems and processes, to effectively coordinate and manage a very disperse team and key stakeholders.
- Experience - Effective team player working in a collaborative environment at pace in a very dynamic environment. A useful skill is being able to manage multiple activities concurrently.
- Experience - Some experience in supporting senior staff in the management of their team is desirable but more importantly is the ability and drive to quickly learn and effectively implement.
- Travel to remote projects/sites will be required due to lack of Public Transport.Therefore, a Driving Licence is desirable.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
