The Role

Early Birds Nursery is an all year round setting for children aged 6 months to four years.

Business support at Early birds Nursery is an administrative role that will require you to carry out a range of activities working within or existing policies, procedures and routines. Roles at this level will require you to resolve problems and queries, demonstrating excellent customer care skills to all our service users.

You will need to have an awareness and general understanding of relevant legislation to include information sharing, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, information governance. Relevant training will be provided.

Experience of working with computers and technology and an ability to use databases, internet, email and software packages, including Microsoft Office as well as a pleasant telephone manner.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

This position is based at Early Birds Nursery, Long Ashton.

Work Style

This role falls into the category of Fixed Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

  • Spends all their time in the office.
  • The office remains a shared space with cultural encouragement for clear desk policies.

About You

This role is to work with the Nursery Manager, and to support this work, we are looking for the following skills and knowledge:

You will be:

  • Dealing with all administrative tasks for the Nursery
  • Working in an environment, where children and families attend
  • Responding appropriately to challenging and complex situations
  • Excellent with communication and customer care skills
  • Knowledgeable with administrative systems
  • Working independently to resolve problems and queries
  • Prioritising and meeting deadlines, working flexibly using your own initiative
  • As a front facing business support you will need to greet our service users with a smile and welcome them to our Nursery.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with young children, and their families and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent practical work experience in technical skills relating to the service area.
  • Awareness and understanding of the service area
  • Experience of working with computers and technology, including Microsoft office.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of the service area regulations and relevant legislation, to include information sharing, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection and information governance.
