
Business Support Officer - Parking Services

We're looking for an organised, customer-focused Business Support Officer to join our Parking Services team and play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of vital parking and enforcement services across the borough.

About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative, operational and customer support across a range of Parking Services functions, including parking permits, parking enforcement, car parks, bus lane enforcement and related services.
You will be the first point of contact for many customers, responding to enquiries by telephone and email, providing clear advice and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally. You will also process applications and payments, maintain accurate records, support financial reconciliation activities, and assist with the monitoring and reporting of service data.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure that services are delivered effectively, accurately and in compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in an administrative or clerical environment.
- Has experience delivering excellent customer service and handling enquiries professionally.
- Is confident using IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- Can communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
- Has strong organisational skills and can manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Produces accurate work with excellent attention to detail.
- Can work independently whilst also contributing positively as part of a team.
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and services.
Knowledge or experience of parking services or civil parking enforcement would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary range
- £27,709 - £30,515 per year
