We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and highly organised Business Support Peripatetic Team Leader to join our dynamic service, providing flexible leadership across a range of teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied and fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong working relationships quickly, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused administrative services.

In this role, you will operate as a peripatetic leader, stepping into different team settings to provide support where it is most needed. You will work closely with local managers to maintain high standards, embed best practice, and drive continuous improvement.

Leading a team deployed across a variety of short-term support assignments, you will play a key role in enabling them to quickly adapt, perform effectively, and make a meaningful impact from the outset. Your leadership will ensure that both service delivery and team performance remain consistently strong, regardless of the setting.

We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

About you:

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience leading administrative or business support teams in a fast-paced environment. You bring proven experience managing or supervising administrative or operational support functions, ideally in a dynamic setting where priorities can shift quickly. You are confident overseeing workloads, supporting team development, and ensuring high standards of delivery, even under pressure.

  • Can quickly adapt to new settings, systems and people. You are highly adaptable and comfortable stepping into new environments, picking up processes, systems, and organisational structures with ease. Whether it’s learning new tools or integrating into a new team, you remain effective and composed while navigating change.

  • Build positive relationships with ease—supporting colleagues and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. You are an excellent communicator who builds trust quickly. You work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and maintain strong, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and supportive working environment.

  • Are committed to delivering consistent, high-quality support services. You take pride in delivering reliable, accurate, and efficient administrative support. You have a strong attention to detail and a clear focus on quality, ensuring that processes run smoothly and stakeholders receive a dependable service.

  • Bring energy, initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are self-motivated and take ownership of your work. Rather than waiting for direction, you anticipate needs, identify potential issues early, and take practical steps to resolve them. Your positive attitude and drive help improve processes and support team success.
