Job description
Balancing quality and value is a key skill, and it's one shared by our Customer Relationship and Strategy Team, who make sure we meet the needs of government customers. They're the specialists who shape services with expert insights, win work through expert bid management, and help us reach new customers each day. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Understanding customer needs.

Knowing the impact of your work.
It all matters.
Turn insights into meaningful change
Being an Insights Manager in the Strategy and Insights team means you’ll be shaping how FCDO Services works. Starting with helping us better understand the markets we operate in and what those insights mean for us now and in the future.
Drawing on a range of sources, you’ll be gathering intelligence from the government security, technology, construction and logistics sectors – as well as looking at the wider political landscape and new trends.
Working with the team, you will turn the data you collate, from desk and field-based research, into evidence-based insights and recommendations. We need you to help us build a clear view of what we should be focusing our resources on so that our global delivery teams have the right tools and technology to keep UK government people, information and assets safe and secure.
You’ll design and use a robust research approach using a range of methodologies to gather a range of qualitative and quantitative data. You’ll be creating reports and you will be presenting your findings.
Structure and focus will be key to how insights are gathered and used across the organisation. You’ll support a clear insights cycle and an annual research plan that ensures intelligence is gathered consistently and shared in ways that are useful to leaders and teams.
Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll champion the value of insights – contributing to workshops, strategy discussions and building strong relationships with colleagues and industry experts.
Bring your market research expertise to inform future strategy
Your proven skills and experience in developing meaningful insights through market and competitor research, complex data analysis and clear reporting, will help you thrive in this role, as will your clear communication style.
Organised and collaborative, you’re used to managing projects that involve multiple sources of information, coordinating input and delivering high-quality outputs to agreed timelines.
Naturally curious and creative, you enjoy asking questions and exploring different resources. You’re also a people person, able to build strong relationships across teams.
Tenacious, enthusiastic and determined to make a difference, you’re keen to make the role your own – applying your existing market research skills, asking the right questions and forming insights that help the organisation understand what it should be doing next to deliver real world outcomes.
