Part Time – 15.5 hours per week
Permanent Grade 2 - SCP 5-8 - £25,583-£26,824 pro rata

We are looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities Management team. This role is vital in providing an efficient caretaking service to the Council Offices, ensuring a secure and well-maintained environment for all staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Security: Responsible for the opening, closing, and securing of the Council Offices, including the operation of intruder alarms.
- Maintenance: Undertaking minor repairs, maintenance to the building and equipment, and keeping external areas clear of debris.
- Compliance: Carrying out routine fire safety inspections and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
- Logistics: Managing postal deliveries, movement of furniture, and assisting with civic hospitality and events.
- Liaison: Acting as a point of contact for cleaning contractors and assisting with the maintenance of ceremonial items.
Hours and Conditions
The position operates on an alternating shift basis on Thursdays and Fridays:
- Thursday: 6.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. / 2.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
- Friday: 6.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. / 2.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
- Some weekend attendance may be required for pre-arranged events or essential works.
