The Role

CARETAKER
Salary: Grade 5 - SCP Point 7 to 11 (£21,407 – £22,817 actual salary)

30 Hours per week/5 days per week/Monday to Friday

All Year Round

(26 – 31 days annual leave per year (dependant on years of service)


Location: The Dormston School, Mill Bank, Dudley, West Midlands, DY3 1SN

Required as soon as possible, we are looking for a Caretaker to join our busy and vibrant site team. We are therefore seeking an applicant who can contribute towards this already strong, positive and supportive team.


The role of Caretaker is responsible for a wide range of duties related to the fabric and security of the school. You will work under the direct supervision of the Site Manager.

The main hours for this role will fit within a 6.00am – 6.00pm timeframe with the predominant shift pattern being 11.30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday during term times. Shift patterns during school holidays will change depending on the needs of the service and other shift patterns required where absences need covering. Occasional evenings and call outs for lettings and buildings issues may be required for which overtime will be paid.
