    Would you like to train as a Carpenter?

    Brighton & Hove City Council’s Repairs & Maintenance Service have an exciting opportunity for Carpentry Level 2 Apprenticeships apprentice in Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship. The Department is responsible for repairs and maintenance of over 12000 homes across the City.

    The Carpentry Apprenticeship at level 2 is run in partnership with Chichester College Group based at their Northbrook Campus, the college has brand new construction facilities and not far from West Durrington Train Station. Northbrook College will be responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course has core duties and will follow the site carpenters route to complete a number of additional duties. The apprentice attends training at the college once a week during term time. The remainder of the time will be working on duties with the housing team. You will build a portfolio of evidence to show your competence over your duration on the apprenticeship. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

    At the end of your training you will enter the assessment period and complete a multiple choice test, a practical assessment and a professional discussion on your evidence portfolio.

    The duration of the apprenticeship will be up to 24 months.

    Additional information

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

    In order to apply for an apprenticeship, you must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years on the first day of the apprenticeship (or this includes EEA for UK or EEA Nationals with pre-settled or Settled Status) or have some other residency eligibility status.     If you are resident through a visa, leave to remain or other means please confirm type and that any expiry date covers the duration of the apprenticeship once it is due to start. Those on a student visa or non-UK/non EEA nationals who have been here in the last three years for other educational purposes may not be eligible.
