About the role and team

Mole Valley Life supports people who may require assistance in their everyday lives, to remain independent and connected to their communities.

We are currently recruiting Casual Community Transport Drivers to support us covering shifts day/evening between Monday and Saturday for our community transport scheme. Providing a service for our older, vulnerable and/or disabled members of public who require transport.

We offer a wide range of transport services for the Mole Valley Community which includes Demand Responsive Transport for the Surrey Connect Service and Home to School Transport work taking children to and from schools in the locality.

You will also provide transport for our hospital transport service and organised recreational trips.

What are we looking for from you?

  • Many of out clients require assistance and therefore our drivers will need to be physically fit, with a caring, considerate and courteous personality.
  • You must also demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity in both the delivery of services and in relationships with colleagues.
  • A good knowledge of the local area is advantageous
  • A full driving licence is required and you must be able to drive Category D1 and D1E vehicles (max. 3 points)
  • Full training will be provided

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

Mole Valley District Council is preparing for a major transformation through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) which will come into effect on 1 April 2027. The aim of LGR is to create a more streamlined, efficient and locally responsive system of government that strengthens public services. Mole Valley District Council will become part of the new East Surrey Unitary Council and this authority will be responsible for all services in the eastern part of the county.

As we move toward LGR, we want to reassure all applicants that roles linked to Mole Valley District Council will continue beyond the transition period and arrangements are in place to ensure that staff will transfer on existing terms and conditions to the new East Surrey Council.
