This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter the leisure industry and work in our award winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

In this role you will:

Work as part of the Health & Fitness team to meet the expectations of members to deliver the Health & Fitness programme.

Provide personalised fitness training and guidance to clients, helping them achieve their health and fitness goals.

Work closely with individuals to assess their needs, monitor progress, and adjust training plans accordingly.

Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages fitness, well-being and sustained lifestyle changes.

Ensure the facilities are well maintained, clean and fit for purpose.

This role requires expertise in exercise science, the ability to create customised fitness plans, and a strong focus on client motivation and safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct fitness assessments for new and returning clients to understand their current fitness levels, goals and medical history.
  • Demonstrate exercises and technique to clients, ensuring proper form to prevent injury
  • Provide general nutritional and wellness advice to complement exercise routines
  • Motivate clients, fostering a supportive and encouraging training environment
  • Ensure the gym is clean, safe and organised, following all safety protocols and procedures
  • Stay updated on the latest fitness trends, certifications and best practices
  • Address client enquiries regarding fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle in a professional and informed manner
  • Carry out promotional activities such as outreach activities, attending partner events, member socials, challenges, and producing regular Facebook / Social Media content.
  • Ensure customers are adhering to the members code of conduct
  • Carry out regular maintenance work on the fitness equipment following appropriate training.

This is a casual post, so hours of work will be offered as and when they become available. You will be offered work / shifts based around the centre opening times; 6:00am to 11:00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am-8.00pm at weekends. The current salary for this post is £12.60 per hour.

The ability to obtain an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential.
