We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Casual Wet Recreation Assistants (lifeguards) to join our teams across Fenton Manor Sports Complex and Dimensions Leisure Centre - the principal sport, leisure and events venues in Stoke-on-Trent, welcoming over one million visitors each year. Our pools and swimming lesson programme are a core part of our service and a significant income stream for Leisure.

• Wet Recreation Assistants play a crucial role in the safe day-to-day operation of the facilities, ensuring appropriate supervision of public swimming sessions, supporting swimming lessons and carrying out essential operational duties.
• As a Wet Recreation Assistant, you will be responsible for the supervision of the pool and surrounding areas, ensuring the safety of all bathers and responding quickly and effectively to any incidents.
• You will assist with pool setup and pack down, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support the delivery of swimming lessons and programmed activities.
• You will be expected to follow all operational procedures including NOPS, EAPs, COSHH and risk assessments, while delivering excellent customer service in a friendly, approachable and professional manner.
• Applicants must hold a current and valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and be able to successfully complete regular competency assessments.
• You should demonstrate strong awareness, good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Hours will vary depending on operational requirements.
