Your work will help maintain our 5-star Food Hygiene rating and support the Council’s commitment to community safety, environmental responsibility, and high-quality service.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be at the heart of daily catering operations, from preparing and serving delicious food and drinks to ensuring cleanliness and hygiene meet the highest standards. You’ll engage with customers, operate tills, assist with stock control, and support special events like children’s parties and weddings. Your attention to allergen management and safe equipment use will be key to our success.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
You’re a team player with a passion for excellent customer service and a keen eye for detail. You bring experience in catering operations and understand the importance of hygiene and safety. You share our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership, and are ready to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends. A Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate is desirable but not essential.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancaster City Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Salary range
- £26,016 - £27,274 per year
