
CCTV intelligence officer
Job Description
Salary range: Grade 6 £35,520 - £36,585 p.a. plus fantastic benefits
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Croydon
You will work as part of a 24/7 shift rota in the CCTV Control Room.
This includes:
- Monitoring screens for the prevention and detection of crime;
- Supporting the police via police radio communication;
- Supporting Council staff and businesses through radio systems and responding to out-of-hours emergency calls on behalf of the Council.
You will provide proactive on-street surveillance using control room technology to prevent crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour in the Borough. This involves communicating tasking requests to frontline officers and out of hours services, and recording all calls and taskings on CRM.
You will assist in reviewing CCTV digital material, issuing copies and statements for court, and acting as a Disclosure Officer.
Good communication and customer service skills are essential for handling difficult calls and managing sensitive situations.
Shift rota: The team works on a rolling pattern covering 365 days, including early, late, and night shifts, as well as weekends and bank holidays.
