Position Overview:

We are seeking an outstanding Chief Accountant to provide strategic leadership and management of our corporate finance function. This is a pivotal role, responsible for financial planning, capital and revenue budgeting, treasury management, financial reporting, and statutory returns.

Guildford Council Finance team has come a long way in a short time and we are looking for someone to continue the improvement. You will work with teams who don't settle for good enough but are striving to be the best and we are looking for a leader to support and encourage development of this service. With Local Government Restructure on the horizon you will be pivotal in the the formation of the new authority.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position in an engaging local government office environment, a minimum of 2 days a week.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development with some attendance at evening meetings required.
