We are recruiting a Child Care Support Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Team: 16 plus / Leaving care teamThis position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

We pay an attractive salary of £28,598- £31,022and offer access to training and development opportunities.

This support worker position within the 16plus team, has a specific role in supporting young people in care who are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC). The role will require you to support all looked after asylum seeking children aged 16 plus in making a successful transition to adulthood. In addition the support will involve 18+ care leavers in their transition into adulthood and to prepare young people with the outcomes of their immigration status. Within this role you will be required to provide a high quality service in relation to all aspects of the assessment and care management process which meet the needs of unaccompanied asylum seeking children and care experienced young people.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Level 2 Care or equivalent qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW)
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
  • Understanding of children and young people’s behaviour, and the need for support and intervention in some circumstances.
