We are looking for caring, committed and resilient individuals to join our small, nurturing 2-bed children's home in South Elmsall, supporting two young children who need consistency, stability and positive relationships to help them thrive.
Salary
Earn up to £50,483.55 inclusive of allowances and on-costs
About the Home
Our home provides a therapeutic and child-centred environment for two young children. The children have experienced significant challenges in their lives and require adults who can provide patience, understanding and unwavering support.
The successful candidates will help create a home where children feel safe, cared for and able to build trusting relationships. No two days are the same, and every day presents an opportunity to make a lasting difference.
Who We're Looking For
You don't need previous residential childcare experience to apply. We welcome people from all backgrounds who can demonstrate:

- A genuine commitment to improving children's lives
- Creativity, enthusiasm and a sense of fun
Desirable Experience
Whilst not essential, experience or knowledge in the following areas would be highly valued:
- Trauma-informed practice
- Supporting children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Emotional regulation and behaviour support
- Attachment-based approaches
- Therapeutic parenting principles
We are particularly interested in applicants who understand how trauma and neurodiversity can impact a child's development, relationships, communication and behaviour.
Your Role
As a Residential Worker, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children
- Support children with education, health and emotional wellbeing
- Help children develop independence and life skills
- Create fun, enjoyable experiences and positive memories
- Support family time and maintain important relationships
- Work alongside social workers, schools and other professionals
- Promote children's voice, rights and aspirations
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
Most importantly, you will be the consistent adult who helps children feel safe, valued and cared for.

Shift Pattern
This role involves a combination of:
- Early shifts: 7:00am to 3:00pm
- Late shifts: 2:30pm to 10:30pm
- Sleep-in shifts
- Alternate weekend working

In accordance with the Council Probation Procedure, this post is subject to a 6-month Probationary Period.
