We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Clerk of Works to join our esteemed Housing Landlord Services Team at Winchester City Council.

As part of its ambitious commitment to carbon reduction, Winchester City Council have allocated multi-million pounds of funding over the next 6 years, to finance retrofit measures to improve the energy efficiency of its housing stock and reduce carbon emissions.

In support of this ambitious programme of work, the council is now looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Clerk of Works.

This permanent post within the Housing Team is aimed at someone who is passionate about project delivery, ensuring high quality projects that are compliant and are delivered on time.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers and needs to be confident in engaging with delivery partners to ensure a well-planned and compliant project with a realistic delivery programme. The candidate should demonstrate experience in project contract administration and site inspections. Experience in financial management and tender procedures is beneficial.

Winchester City Council have put quality at the forefront of their Retrofit programmes and therefore the candidate should have technical experience on current Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Building Safety Regulations and policies regarding energy upgrades. An interest and/or knowledge on PAS 2030/2035 would be beneficial. The candidate will be predominantly site based to ensure compliant delivery of construction with some office time for administrative work.
