We are recruiting a Clerk of Works Mechanical and Electrical Services at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Clerk of Works Mechanical and Electrical Services within Caerphilly Homes, Asset Maintenance and Repairs Team.

The post holder will be expected to support the Project Manager in the provision of a high-quality repairs and maintenance service for the Asset Maintenance and Repairs section working across a wide range of functions, contracts, work programmes and projects.

You will deliver a customer focused Response Maintenance Service in accordance with the objectives set out by the Council in its Welsh Housing Quality Standard Programme, Planned Asset Maintenance Strategy, and the Renting Homes Wales Act. You will undertake pre and post inspections and contract duties and assist in the preparation of contract works and response maintenance ensuring adherence to Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), Renting Homes Wales Act (RHWA) and WHQS23.

You will become part of a dynamic team delivering reactive repairs/planned maintenance works to our homes.

The successful candidate must have an excellent work ethic, good communication skills, and a dynamic approach to the role and be able to lead by example.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales or above in an electrical discipline. For example, Level 3 Certificate in Installing Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installation Work in Dwellings or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of current standards and specifications relating to electrical installations.
  • Experience in compliance with contractual requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business/work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings and visit sites.
