Our Adult Social Care Division is looking for a passionate and dedicated Client Finance Team Manager to join our amazing service and help make a difference today!

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Charging Team within Southwark Council’s Personal Budgets and Client Finance Service. With a strong focus on financial assessments, the team plays a critical role in reviewing financial assessment forms, calculating client contributions, and ensuring residents receive fair and accurate decisions on their eligibility for council-funded care.

As Client Finance Team Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of seven Client Finance Caseworkers.
  • Overseeing the processing of new financial assessments and ensuring supporting evidence is collected.
  • Leading the review of historical cases to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensuring assessments are completed fairly, efficiently, and in line with legislation and council policy.
  • Contributing to Adult Social Care’s financial sustainability by ensuring accurate income collection.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of financial assessment processes in Adult Social Care and the ability to lead and motivate a busy team. You’ll bring:

  • Experience managing or supervising a finance or assessment-related team.
  • A clear understanding of personal budgets, charging policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fairness, quality service delivery, and continuous improvement.

You’ll be joining a supportive and purpose-driven team at the heart of Southwark Council’s Adult Social Care Division, with a budget of over £120 million dedicated to improving lives in our community. Our Personal Budgets and Client Finance Service plays a vital role in ensuring equitable access to support and funding.
