Climate Change Officer
Permanent Contract
Full time (37 hours per week)
Work base: Leek and Buxton, will be expected to travel. Agile working applicable
£36,363- £39,862 per annum plus essential car user allowance
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the fight against climate change? High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council are on the lookout for a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to lead our response to the Climate Change Emergency.
About the Role: As the Climate Change Officer, you will work closely with the Council’s Head of Communities and Climate Change. Your mission will be to spearhead and continuously enhance our strategies for addressing climate change and promoting biodiversity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Council’s climate change and biodiversity initiatives.
- Collaborate with various Council services and key partners, including community groups, businesses, and other stakeholders.
- Drive forward innovative solutions and projects that support our sustainability goals.
We are looking for someone with:
- A deep understanding of climate change, sustainability, and biodiversity.
- Proven experience in policy and strategy development.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and effectively.
